Privacy Policy
PipZ is a desktop app that runs entirely on your Mac. The short version of this policy: the app itself collects nothing, the website collects almost nothing, and we don't sell your data to anyone.
What the app collects
Nothing. PipZ does not phone home. It has no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no error reporting service. The browser content you open in PiP windows is rendered locally by macOS WebKit, the same engine Safari uses, and any cookies or local storage created by those websites stay on your Mac in the standard WebKit data store.
What the website collects
This website is a static set of HTML, CSS, and image/video files served by Cloudflare, Inc. Your hosting provider may keep standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention; these are not used for tracking and are typically retained for a short period.
We use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) to count visits and understand which pages people read. GA collects pseudonymous usage data - page URL, referrer, screen size, approximate location derived from IP, and a randomized cookie ID. We don't link any of it to your name, email, or purchase, and we don't share it with third parties beyond Google itself. See the Google Analytics Privacy Policy. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser's tracking-protection settings.
The site loads three third-party assets:
-
Google Analytics (
www.googletagmanager.com,www.google-analytics.com) for the analytics described above. -
Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) for the Geist and Press Start 2P typefaces. Google may receive your IP address when fonts are loaded; see the Google Privacy Policy. -
Google's favicon service (
www.google.com/s2/favicons) is used by the macOS app - not the website - to display site icons in PiP toolbars. The same Google Privacy Policy applies.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC, a Stripe-powered merchant of record based in Wyoming, USA). We receive your name, email address, country, and an order reference from the processor - we do not see or store your full payment card details. The processor's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.
If you email pipzhelp@gmail.com, we keep the email thread for as long as the conversation is useful for support. We don't add support email addresses to a marketing list.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (e.g.
_ga, _ga_*) on getpipz.com to
distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies do not contain
personal information. Third-party domains like Google Fonts may also
set cookies on their own domains when their resources load. You can
block any of these using your browser's privacy settings without
affecting the rest of the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you (commonly under GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California). In practice, the only personal data we typically hold is the order record and any support email thread. To exercise these rights, email pipzhelp@gmail.com from the address tied to your purchase.
Children
PipZ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
International users
Data we receive (order record, support emails) is processed and stored using providers based in the Republic of Korea. By using PipZ or the website, you understand that your data may be processed in countries other than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted in the changelog.
